Electrical Box Assembly Automation
A assembly automation machine with in-feed and out-feed conveyors to transfer various size electrical boxes into and out of the cell where nails are inserted. The first robot uses Fanuc’s integrated vision software and four cameras to pick and place the boxes into the nail insertion tooling from up to four different lanes on the in-feed conveyor. This tooling uses servo-controlled actuators to insert nails into each box. The second robot removes the boxes from the tooling and transfers them to an automated barcode applicator. It then places the finished boxes on an out-feed conveyor. Interchangeable part specific tooling on each robot and the nail insertion station is included so the machine is capable of running multiple part versions.
