Grille Snap Station
The grille snap station was designed and built to be a semi-automated machine to assist the operator in the assembly of automobile grills. Part-specific tooling and an actuated upper platen with individually adjustable snap tooling was used to snap the two portions of the grills together. This station was designed to assemble two grills in each cycle. An operator would load both outer and both inner pieces and then start the machine. The upper platen would then lower to snap the two halves together. A PLC and HMI were used to control the station.
